"Eggs so fresh, the hens don't miss them!"

Midwest

Animal Care Certified Eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms are from hens that are kept in a more spaceous environment. The amount of space per hen is carefully regulated and certified by independant auditors of the United Egg Producers. The United Egg Producer guidelines are based on recommendations from an independent scientific advisory committee commissioned to review the treatment of egg-producing hens. The committee included representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture, scientists, U.S. Humane Association and academics. The guidelines place top priority on the comfort, health and safety of the chickens. Only farms that treat their hens in this humane fashion are allowed to be certified. Rose Acre Farms is proud to be a founding farm in this program for the ethical and humane treatment of our happy hens.

The family association with eggs and farming dates back at least 125 years. Rose Acre Brand Eggs came about in the 1930's, started in Indiana by the Rust Family. Early on, eggs were sold at the Indianapolis Farmers Market with eggs produced by the Rust farm located in scenic southern Indiana. The family supplemented those eggs by purchasing surplus eggs from surrounding farmers. By 1955 Rose Acres began construction on the first chicken house located at Rural Route 5, Seymour, Indiana. Business did very well with the extremely fresh eggs produced. Growing with additional egg farms located throughout Indiana, and by the 1980's in Winterset, Iowa, Rose Acres has became known for quality & value and freshness throughout the United States.
